After back-to-back disappointing results for his Man City side against Celtic and Tottenham, going into the international break Guardiola’s tactics are beginning to come under some scrutiny.

Daily Record reporter, Duncan Castles, suggested in an opinion piece that the Catalan’s system and physical requirements could cost his side dearly in the long-run, as he overworks and exhausts his Sky Blues side.

As if to support his comments, The Telegraph revealed on Thursday just who were the hardest working stars in the Premier League so far this season, in terms of distance covered.

Their research showed that Man City’s industrious defensive midfielder, who is a lynchpin Guardiola’s system, being asked to move between the back four and holding midfield on a regular basis dependant on system, had covered just shy of 50 miles thus far, or 2000 laps of an athletics track.

This is an impressive statistic, and could just mean that the Brazilian is working harder than anyone around him, however, if he is required to work at such an intense rate all season, it could cost the former Barcelona boss as the season progresses.

What do you think? Is Guardiola working his players too hard? And will it cost them the title? Vote below…
