The coming days could be crucial in determining the outcome of Manchester United’s pursuit of Christian Pulisic, with Chelsea still weighing up the player’s future.

The Red Devils are believed to be interested in a loan deal for the American, although Chelsea remain unsure as to what the best solution is.

Pulisic has struggled for game time under Thomas Tuchel, and according to The Mail, The Blues are now considering letting the forward join United on loan.

The report claims, though, that Chelsea will only do so if the US international, who has made substitute appearances in each of Chelsea’s opening two games so far this season, agrees to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

His current deal is due to expire in 2024, but it is suggested that those in charge of the London club are hopeful that he will extend his stay beyond that.

Pulisic’s future will be decided in the coming days

A loan deal would, on the face of it, appear to benefit all parties.

The player would likely benefit from increased playing time, taking advantage of United’s misfiring frontline, while Chelsea would keep hold of their player and United would be boosted by his arrival without having to spend big.

Pulisic joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and enjoyed a successful first season in England, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 25 league matches.

He has since struggled to maintain his form though, and the arrival of Raheem Sterling appears to have pushed him further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Both Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, United’s two first choice wingers, have struggled over the past 12 months, which could be good news for Pulisic if he were to make the move to Old Trafford.
