Crystal Palace and Everton are set to go head-to-head in the race to sign Cameroon international Karl Toko Ekambi.

The Premier League duo, who sit seventh and eleventh in the standings respectively, are monitoring the progress of the Sochaux striker ahead of the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who has three international caps to his name, has scored three goals in seven league appearances for the Ligue 2 outfit so far this season.

However it is last term’s impressive statistics; 14 league goals, that has alerted potential suitors to Ekambi’s goalscoring talents, with both Palace and Everton thought to be considering New Year moves for the Cameroonian.

French club Sochaux are believed to value their star striker at around £2m.
