Crystal Palace and Sunderland are both reportedly pondering over whether to make a £8m raid for Cameroon international striker Benjamin Moukandjo, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League duo, who are both currently fighting near the bottom of the English top-flight standings, are both interested in signing FC Lorient’s star striker following his impressive performances this term.

The 27-year-old, who has 33 international caps for his country, has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.

Moukandjo, who was reportedly a previous transfer target for Premier League rivals Liverpool, only joined Lorient from Reims last summer.

The report suggests that the Eagles and Black Cats are eager to secure Moukandjo’s services, who is rated at around £8m, with the forward able to operate as a centre forward or on either attacking flank.
