Crystal Palace are prepared to fend off Hull City and West Brom in a bid to sign Republic of Ireland international Shane Duffy this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League side, who take on Liverpool in the English top-flight on Sunday afternoon, are keen admirers of the Blackburn Rovers defender following his impressive displays at Ewood Park this term.

The 24-year-old, who made his international debut against Costa Rica back in June 2014, has scored two goals and provided two assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for Paul Lambert’s Championship side so far this season.

However Duffy, who left Premier League rivals Everton back in September 2014 after just 10 first-team appearances for the Toffees, is also being closely monitored by Championship title contenders Hull and fellow top-flight club West Brom ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

With Eagles centre-half Scott Dann being tracked by ‘bigger’ clubs come the end of the 2015-16 campaign; boss Alan Pardew could make a move for Duffy as his ideal replacement, with the report suggesting he is valued at around £3m by Blackburn.
