Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Chelsea striker Loic Remy, on a season-long loan deal as manager Alan Pardew looks to add to his attacking armoury before the deadline closes on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old will reportedly cost The Eagles a £3m loan fee for the season, as he looks to re-vitalise his career after an inconsistent two years at Stamford Bridge.

The former Queens Park Rangers striker has history with manager Pardew having worked with the former Southampton man during his loan spell with Newcastle where he bagged 14 goals in 26 Premier League appearances for The Magpies.

However, since his £11m move to South West London the French international has only managed 14 goals in nearly 50 appearances for the the Blues.

Goals have been a commodity that the players at Selhurst Park have found rather hard to come by in 2016 and adding bite to the front line has been a priority this summer with fellow striker, Christian Benteke also joining the club this summer.
