Crystal Palace are set to bid for Ryan Manning.

According to a report in the Croydon Advertiser Sam Allardyce is hoping to bring in the QPR midfielder as part of a summer spending spree.

Manning has played an important part in steering QPR clear of the relegation battle and is highly thought of by Ian Holloway.

The 20-year-old recently signed a new contract but that looks like securing a realistic transfer fee rather than a long term commitment.

Palace would be able to offer a massive wage rise and the opportunity to play in the Premier League without having to move out of London.

After a frustrating time during the January transfer window Allardyce is determined to make some early moves into the transfer market to ensure that Palace steer well clear of the relegation battle next term.

Bournemouth have also been watching Manning with QPR looking for a fee in the region of £7m with a sell on clause built into the deal.
