Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, and Southampton are all targeting a summer move for Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna, according to The Daily Star.

The 34-year-old will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the month after being informed that his contract won’t be renewed, bringing the curtain down on a Citizens career which has spanned three years, and saw him win the League Cup under Manuel Pellegrini in 2016.

And with 85 appearances for the North West giants, of which 24 came this time round, the right-back still has much to offer, and may be given a Premier League lifeline this summer as top-flight trio Palace, Newcastle, and Southampton are all reportedly eyeing up a summer move.

The Eagles are without a manager following Sam Allardyce’s resignation, yet following a top tier campaign which saw them flirt with the bottom three, the new man will want to seriously bolster his squad ahead of the new season.

The same can be said of Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle, who are looking to land Premier League experience ahead of their return to the top-flight, while Saints boss Claude Puel may also need to strengthen his defensive options given the uncertainty surrounding the future of Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand.

And there’s little doubt that Sagna, who has played 266 times in the Premier League at both Arsenal and City, would give any of the aforementioned trio a dependable option at the back, and one with vast amounts of experience at the top level.
