Name: Dwight Gayle
Despite Eagles boss Alan Pardew admitting his sole priority this transfer window is recruiting a new striker, that doesn’t necessarily mean a forward already at the club won’t be leaving Selhurst Park before transfer deadline day.
Dwight Gayle, who joined Crystal Palace from Peterborough United for a reported £4.5m back in July 2013, has been linked with January moves to fellow Premier League side AFC Bournemouth and Championship outfits Derby County and Queens Park Rangers.
The 25-year-old; who was only playing non-league football with Bishop’s Stortford four years ago, has struggled to nail down a starting eleven spot in Palace’s Premier League squad this term, making just seven league appearances so far.
However potential suitors have seen Gayle’s goalscoring ability exploited in the League Cup this campaign, netting three goals in four games for the club before their 5-1 annihilation at Manchester City in the fourth round.
It is thought that the former Stansted star is valued around £6m.
