Patrick Vieira’s reign at Crystal Palace got off to a slow start, but the Frenchman has earned his first point as Eagles boss after a thrilling 2-2 draw with West Ham United on Saturday.

The Hammers twice went ahead – and twice were pegged back by Conor Gallagher – as the two sides played out a frantic London derby at the London Stadium.

Palace have been busy doing the transfer window, with Michael Olise, Marc Guehi, Gallagher, Joachim Andersen and Remi Matthews all arriving at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles then followed those signings up with confirmation of Will Hughes’ arrival at the club, having departed Watford.

Now, it appears that Palace could still delve into the transfer market once more before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday.

According to Sky Sports, the London club are keen on signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, and are still working on a possible deal with just hours of the window left.

Nketiah is yet to feature for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.

The 22-year-old has struggled for first team chances with the Gunners in recent months, and is expected to leave before the window closes.

The young forward has scored 13 times in 65 appearances for Arsenal, and also scored five times while on loan with Leeds United two seasons ago.

At youth level, however, Nketiah was prolific, scoring 27 times in 38 PL2 games.

It is believed that talks between the two London clubs are ongoing and, while the two sides’ valuations of the player are some way apart, there is a view that a day could be agreed.

An unnamed German side are also thought to be in negotiations for the player, who is entering into the final season of his current deal having refused to extend his contract earlier this year.
