Crystal Palace verging on Evra deal

Crystal Palace are closing on a deal to sign Juventus left-back Patrice Evra, according to reports from Sky Italia (via Sky Sports).

The former Manchester United man has also been linked with a Premier League return in the form of a move to West Ham in recent weeks.

The France international, who left Old Trafford for Turin in July 2014, has made just 13 appearances for the Italian champions this season and has supposedly approved the move to south London.

The 35-year-old, who has over 270 Premier League appearances under his belt, won five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League during his time at Manchester United.

Sam Allardyce seems keen to bolster his defence before the month is out as he looks to save the Eagles from a relegation battle. The former West Ham boss has been linked with a move for the ex-Hammers loanee Carl Jenkinson at Arsenal.
