Lee’s only Premier League goal this campaign is a contender for Goal of the Season.

It was in fact the South Korean international’s piercing strike that sealed Crystal Palace’s last Premier League victory, which came way back in December 2015.

After two failed attempts from his fellow teammates in trying to snatch a winner from a late corner in their game at Stoke City, the ball trickled outside the 18-yard area into the path of the onrushing Lee Chung-Yong. And the rest; they say, is history.

With the clock ticking into the 88th minute at the Britannia Stadium; with the scores level at 1-1, the 27-year-old dashed forward to hit a ferocious strike into the far corner from 25 yards out, sending the away supporters behind the goal into raptures.

That was the South Korean star’s second goal of the campaign, in which he has only featured 11 times in the top-flight for Alan Pardew’s outfit.

But it seems Lee might be a lucky omen; as since this Goal of the Season contender, he has played just six times in the Premier League, with Palace failing to claim victories in any of those meetings as they remain winless in 2016.
