Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing a bid for England international midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League side, who sit rock-bottom of the top-flight standings after losing their opening four games, have been linked with the out of favour Arsenal man ahead of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old, who has 34 international caps for the Three Lions, has failed to feature for The Gunners’ first-team so far this season, instead appearing twice in the Premier League 2.

Wilshere, who spent last term on loan at fellow top-flight outfit AFC Bournemouth, making 27 appearances, was sent off during Arsenal Under-23’s victory over Manchester City back on August 21.

However; despite not featuring under boss Arsene Wenger, new Palace manager Roy Hodgson, who succeeded sacked Frank de Boer at Selhurst Park earlier this week, is a huge fan of the central midfielder and would be eager to land the Gunners outcast in the New Year market.

Wilshere has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, with his contract expiring on June 30, 2018.

The midfielder has scored 12 goals in 160 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal overall, winning two FA Cups and two FA Community Shields.
