Rangers could be pushing Barrie McKay into the arms of Nottingham Forest.

According to a report in the Daily Record Pedro Caixinha has still to make up his mind on what the flying winger is worth.

McKay has had a mixed season in the top flight but has scored in the last two matches, against Partick Thistle and Hearts to buy Caixinha breathing space after back-to-back defeats from Celtic.

The 22-year-old rejected a contract earlier this year put to him by Mark Warburton with the new Nottingham Forest boss expected to be at the front of the queue if McKay rejects a fresh Ibrox deal.

Under Ally McCoist McKay’s career seemed to be going nowhere but Warburton had faith and was rewarded with some outstanding displays last season.

With his contract expiring in June 2018 the next few weeks will be crucial if the player is to stay at Ibrox or be sold on elsewhere.
