While the transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, Premier League clubs are still working hard ahead of a busy summer.

The window officially opens on June 14, but discussions are already taking place with a view to completing deals later this month.

Chelsea are set to be one of the busiest clubs in the division this summer, with new head coach Enzo Maresca taking charge of the club from the start of July.

The club’s American owners have spent more than £1 billion on transfers since taking charge of the club in 2022, and they are likely to once again be active in the market.

With that in mind, it appears that the Blues are closing in on their first signing of the summer.

Adarabioyo is set to join West London rivals Chelsea

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, defender Tosin Aarabioyo has completed a medical ahead of a free transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The centre-back is set to leave fellow West London side Fulham when his contract expires at the end of the month, and Romano claims that he will then complete a move to Chelsea.

The 26-year-old joined the Cottagers from Manchester City in 2020 having previously spent time on loan at both West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers.

He has since made more than 130 appearances for Fulham across all competitions and played a key role for Marco Silva’s side last term, but the club were unable to reach an agreement over a contract extension with the defender.

He will therefore depart Craven Cottage at the end of the month, before making the short trip to sign a deal with the Blues.

Once he arrives at Chelsea, Adarabioyo will compete with the likes of Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill for a starting spot in Maresca’s side.
