Lyon have agreed a fee which could rise to £21.7 million with Manchester United for the sale of Memphis Depay according to Sky Sports.

Jose Mourinho’s side are reported to have a buy-back-clause for the 22 year-old inserted in the deal.

The French club have agreed to potential add ons such as securing qualification for the Champions League and the winger signing a new contract with them.

The Netherlands forward has endured a difficult period in Manchester since former boss Louis Van Gaal recruited him from PSV Eindhoven in 2015.

Depay quickly fell down the pecking order at United and it hasn’t instilled faith in Jose Mourinho that he can deliver. The France bound player’s last appearance to date came against Feyenoord in the Europa League on November 24.

He’s the second big name to depart Old Trafford this window after Morgan Schneiderlin joined Everton last week. It remains to be seen as to whether Jose Mourinho will sign reinforcements.
