Not many players, especially those in their teenage years, would dare turn their back on Pep Guardiola, but that’s what Jadon Sancho did in 2017. The Spanish chief was expecting his exciting prospect to arrive at be on the plane for their pre-season tour of the USA but the forward informed his boss that he would not be signing a new contract with the club. Sancho stayed at home with the youth team as City tried hard to persuade him to stay. But, as we now know, he signed for Dortmund for £8million later that summer.
