Leeds United have confirmed Pablo Hernandez as their first signing of the January window, with the former loanee putting pen to paper on a permanent deal.

The 31-year-old has signed from Qatari side Al-Arabi Sports Club, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Elland Road.

The former Swansea City man, who won the League Cup with the Welsh side, has bagged three goals in 18 appearances for Gary Monk’s side so far this season, as well as picking up a further three assists.

The club teased the announcement on Twitter earlier this morning, stating that they had tied up the deal but would wait to reveal the name.

The four-cap Spain international will now return to United, who face Cambridge in the FA Cup this evening.
