Sean Dyche is emerging as the favourite to replace Sam Allardyce as manager of Crystal Palace.

According to a report in the Standard, Steve Parish is looking to make a long term appointment capable of steadying what has become a roller-coaster club.

Dyche has been in charge of Burnley for five years during which he has twice led the club to promotion into the Premier League.

A number of foreign coaches have been linked with the vacancy, the latest being Mauricio Pellegrino who resigned from Alaves earlier this week, but it now seems certain that it’ll be a British coach taking charge at Selhurst Park.

Palace have put together a short list of candidates for the job of manager and won’t be rushed into an appointment.

Garry Monk is also a strong contender based on his work at Swansea but if it comes down to a straight choice it’s likely that Dyche will get win the race.
