Arsenal have been reportedly handed a boost in their pursuit of Algeria international ace Riyad Mahrez this summer, according to Ilyes Ramdani (via the Express).

The Premier League side, who finished 10 points behind eventual English top-flight champions Leicester City last term, have been continually linked with a move for the Foxes winger.

The 25-year-old, who has 24 international caps for his country, scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for Claudio Ranieri’s men last season.

However Mahrez, who was crowned PFA Player of the Year following Leicester’s miraculous title win, is now understood to have told the club that he wants a move to the Gunners before the close of the current transfer window.

But; according to French journalist, Ilyes Ramdani, despite the forward being reluctant to commit his future to the Foxes, he will not force through a move to North London this summer.

Leicester will begin their Premier League title defence against newly promoted Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
