Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool on alert after Emil Forsberg’s agent admitted that the midfielder could leave Bundesliga outfit Leipzig this summer, reports Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet (via The Daily Mirror).

The 25-year-old enjoyed a wonderful campaign with the German side, netting eight goals and laying on a stunning 19 assists to help the club, who only got promoted last summer from the second tier, to second place in the top-flight, three points clear of Borussia Dortmund.

Unsurprisingly, that tally of 19 assists was the highest in the German top tier this term, seven more than Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele and Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller, and as such speculation has been building about Forsberg’s future, with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Bayern all linked with a summer move.

And the playmaker’s agent has cast even greater doubts over his future in recent days with comments that the Sweden international could leave Leipzig this summer.

He said: ‘I will not comment on the clubs involved. There are big clubs who are very interested in Emil.

‘He has made history in Germany. Of course, you know RB want to keep Emil, you need to constantly make sure to make Emil satisfied.

‘He has paid back the club ten-fold. Maybe it’s time to test himself at a big club.’

These comments are sure to interest Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and Reds counterpart Jurgen Klopp, with both men on the lookout for signings this summer ahead of their respective challenges next term.

Klopp’s Liverpool will be returning to the Champions League and will need to seriously bolster their options to challenge on both domestic and European fronts, while Wenger’s Arsenal won’t be in Europe’s elite competition, but need the top talent to make sure they are back in the tournament the season after next.

And following these comments from Forsberg’s agent, an interesting summer lies in wait for the 25-year-old sensation.
