Chelsea return to action on Saturday afternoon when they face fierce London rivals West Ham United.

The London Stadium has not been a happy hunting ground in recent years for the Blues, who have won just once in their last seven visits.

Enzo Maresca will be hopeful that his side can continue their strong away from this season, though, having followed up a 6-2 victory over Wolves with a narrow 1-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

One player that is almost certain to be involved on Saturday is defender Levi Colwill, and GiveMeSport claims that the England international has impressed Maresca more than any of his teammates in training so far this term.

The centre-back has played every minute of the Blues’ Premier League campaign so far and has been hugely impressive, but the report claims that the defender has also impressed Maresca behind closed doors.

He is said to have impressed the Italian with his work ethic and is regarded as the most consistent trainer in the Blues’ bloated squad.

Colwill was hugely impressive against Bournemouth on Saturday

It is claimed that the centre-back was told by Maresca before the start of the campaign that he would be used regularly in his natural position, having often played at left-back last term.

Colwill went into pre-season under Maresca seeking assurances not only over his playing time but also his position, with his preferred role as a left-sided central defender.

He has so far kept the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile out of Maresca’s side in the Premier League.

Colwill, 21, is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy and has now played 36 times for the West London side at senior level.

He is contracted to the Stamford Bridge outfit until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, and looks set to be a mainstay for the club for several years to come.
