Eric Dier has pledged his long-term future with Premier League side Tottenham after signing a new five-year contract.

The England international, who was part of the Three Lions squad that competed at the 2016 European Championships in France earlier this summer, has extended his stay at the White Hart Lane outfit until 2021 after becoming an instrumental part of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.

The 22-year-old, who arrived in North London from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon back in August 2014 following his reported £4m move, has featured in all four of Spurs’ league games so far this season.

Dier; who has made a total of 87 appearances since joining, scoring six goals, told the club’s official Twitter page, “I’m delighted to have signed a new five-year deal here at Tottenham.”

The defensive midfielder netted England’s first goal at Euro 2016, scoring a delightful free-kick against Russia in their Group B opener, before the Three Lions were pinned back to a late 1-1 stalemate.
