Arsenal look set to continue their summer spending in the coming days, with Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko expected to join the Gunners.

The Ukraine international will follow Gabriel Jesus from The Etihad to The Emirates, while Mikel Arteta has also landed Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner.

The Spaniard is looking to rebuild his squad ahead of trying to secure Champions League qualification next season.

Arsenal have so far played friendlies against both Nurnberg and Everton, with Jesus scoring in both matches.

It seems that midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe has been impressed by what he has seen of his teammate so far, as he said in an interview with the Evening Standard.

“He’s been fantastic since he came in, it feels like he’s been here for a couple of years,” he said.

Smith-Rowe scored ten Premier League goals last term

“Everyone knows how good he is and we can’t wait to get started with him. Man City are a big club and they’ve won a lot recently.

“It would be good if he could bring that [winning] mentality and help us out.”

Smith-Rowe was also very complimentary of fellow new signing Vieira, comparing him to City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

“He’s very similar [to Silva],” says the 21-year-old. “He’s a very good passer of the ball, his left foot is very good and he likes to create goals and score them himself.
“I’ve already played against him at international level, so I can’t speak highly enough of him, and the fans should be really excited. At the Euro Under-21s, they [Portugal] beat us 2-0 and he was unbelievable in that game.”
Gunners fans won’t have to wait long to see their new signings in competitive action, with Arsenal’s curtain raiser against Crystal Palace now less than three weeks away.
