Celtic will be looking to claim all three points when they entertain Fenerbahce in Glasgow having failed to hold on to their lead in their 2-2 draw at Ajax on matchday one.

The Scottish Premiership side, who sit four points behind leaders Hearts, came close to beating the Dutch giants at the Amsterdam ArenA but a late equaliser meant Ronny Deila’s men had to settle for a point.

Fenerbahce, one of the pre-tournament favourites, come into the game bottom of Group A after suffering a surprise 3-1 home defeat to Molde last month.

Vítor Pereira’s side currently sit second in the Super Lig, level on points with Istanbul rivals Besiktas, who defeated them 3-2 on Sunday.

The Bhoys, who are facing Turkish opposition for the first time in a competitive match, will be without left-back Emilio Izaguirre, who misses the game through suspension.

Izaguirre is out

The Honduras international was sent off in Celtic’s trip to Ajax and, as a result, serves his one-match ban.

Charlie Mulgrew may fill in for Izaguirre but he, along with defender Jozo Simunovic, remain doubts.

However, Deila is not short of options as Manchester United loanee Tyler Blackett, Saidy Janko and Kieran Tierney can all slot in at left-back, while Efe Ambrose has also previously appeared in that position.

The Celtic boss will also be pleased to welcome Stuart Armstrong back into the side after the midfielder’s recovery from a back injury.

For the visitors, Lazar Markovic, who joined the club on a season-long loan from Liverpool in the summer, is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Star signing Robin van Persie, who left Manchester United in July, is likely to be the match on the bench after failing to start the last few games.

But Nani and Raul Meireles, formerly of United and Liverpool respectively, are likely to be in Pereira’s side.
