Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Toffees confirmed on Wednesday that they had signed the Englishman from the Blues for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £25 million initially.

Dewsbury-Hall becomes Everton’s fifth signing of the summer, while Chelsea have now allowed no fewer than eight players to leave Stamford Bridge permanently since the start of the current transfer window.

The 26-year-old is a product of the Leicester City academy and made more than 125 times for the club across all competitions, as well as spending time on loan at both Luton Town and Blackpool.

Last summer the midfielder joined Chelsea, but he struggled to force his way into Enzo Maresca’s first choice starting line-up.

In total he featured 36 times for the Blues across all competitions, but he started just two of their 38 Premier League matches as Maresca’s side secured the return to the Champions League.

Earlier this summer Dewsbury-Hall featured five times in the FIFA Club World Cup for Chelsea, including a substitute appearance as the Blues cruised to a 3-0 win over French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final in New Jersey.

During his single season with Chelsea, the midfielder lifted both the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup, scoring five goals and registering four assists in that time.

Everton have confirmed that the midfielder has signed a long-term deal with the club, set to run until the summer of 2030.

Dewsbury-Hall could make his competitive debut for the Toffees against Leeds United on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
