Everton are keeping tabs on Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic as captain Phil Jagielka prepares to call time on his Blues career say the Liverpool Echo.

The central defender has been a bit part player for The Blues this season, despite boss Antonio Conte utilising an extra centre-back in his 5-2-3 formation.

Ivanovic, 33, who has been capped 92 times for Serbia is likely to depart The Bridge before the end of the window and it’s Everton who are keen on snapping up the experienced centre-back.

The Serb joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008 and has appeared 375 times for the Premier League leaders.

It’s a case of one veteran in and another out for Everton as Phil Jagielka looks set for a move away from Merseyside.

Jagielka’s time at Goodison edges Ivanovic’s time with the Londoners. The England international signed for Everton in 2007, but former manager David Moyes is now interested in reuniting with the 34 year-old at Sunderland.
