Everton are switching their goalkeeping attention to Kasper Schmeichel.

According to a report in The Sun Ronald Koeman has turned his focus to the Leicester keeper after fearing that Everton could be getting used to trigger an auction for Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford.

A demand for £30m for the England squad man has sent Everton looking elsewhere as Koeman attempts to bring in a long term keeper.

While Schmeichel might not be much cheaper than Pickford he comes with plenty of top flight experience as well as a Premier League winners medal.

The Danish keeper signed a new contract at the start of the season that ties him to the club until 2021 but recently changed agent sparking rumours that he could be looking to leave.

It’s expected that a few more of Leicester’s title winners will move on in the summer, with no Champions League football to look forward to Schmeichel could be tempted by an offer from Everton.
