Everton are reportedly ready to try and seal a £30m deal to sign Portugal international star William Carvalho, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League side; who could only finish 11th in the English top-flight standings last term, leading to the dismissal of former manager Roberto Martinez, have been linked with a mega money move for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

The 24-year-old, who has 25 international caps for his country and helped Portugal defeat France in the EURO 2016 final earlier this month, scored three goals and provided three assists in 36 appearances in all competitions for the Liga NOS outfit last season.

Carvalho, who has been at Sporting since he was aged 13, is wanted by new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman as the club’s high-profile midfield summer signing ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The report suggests that the Dutchman has set his sights on the European champion after Premier League rivals Leicester City, plus Serie A duo Napoli and Inter Milan, are rivalling Everton for Belgium international Axel Witsel.
