Everton are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Cuco Martina this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who defeated defending league champions Leicester City 4-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday, have been linked with making a move for the out of favour right-back come the end of the current 2016-17 campaign.

The 27-year-old, who is an international for Curacao, has provided just one assist in 18 appearances in all competitions for The Saints so far this season.

Martina, who has not started for Claude Puel’s side in the top-flight this year, is set to become a free agent this summer, with his two-year deal expiring at St Mary’s Stadium this June.

The report suggests Everton boss Ronald Koeman, who brought the full-back to Southampton back in July 2015 from Eredivisie outfit FC Twente, is keen on a reunion with the defender, who could act as cover for Seamus Coleman following his horrific leg break last month on international duty.
