Ronald Koeman led Everton to a seventh place finish in the Premier League in his first season in charge at Goodison Park.

The Toffees sacked manager Roberto Martinez last summer and brought in Southampton boss Koeman with the brief for a significant improvement in terms of results and league position, and they did just that by winning 17 of their 38 league games en route to 61 points.

The Merseyside outfit will also be returning to European competition next term in the Europa League third qualifying round, what with the two domestic cup winners both having qualified for Europe already, and thus the Toffees faithful are left to reflect on what has been a much-improved campaign at Goodison Park.

However, one man who is unlikely to be donning to blue of Everton next term is Enner Valencia, who spent the campaign on loan from fellow Premier League outfit West Ham.

The Ecuador international managed just three goals in 21 league appearances for the Toffees this time round, and recent reports suggest that manager Koeman will opt out of signing him on a permanent deal this summer.

And it’s news which has stimulated quite a response from Everton supporters on Twitter, with many expressing their disappointment at the decision…
