Everton are edging closer to a deal for Porto midfielder, Yacine Brahimi with talks progressing with the Portuguese club, according to Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old looks destined to leave the Champions League winners having been left out of their squad for the competition.

The Algerian international scored nine goals in 44 appearances in all competitions last season, setting up ten along the way.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who can play on either wing or through the middle, has reportedly already turned down a big money move to China this summer.

The former Stade Rennais man has experience in both the Champions League and Europa League, an asset that will be very attractive to Ronald Koeman and his coaching staff, as they look to push the Toffees back towards the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Should the powers that be at Goodison Park get the deal over the line, Brahimi would be Koeman’s seventh addition this summer, following Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye, Yannick Bolasie, Maarten Stekelenburg, Chris Renshaw and Bassala Sambou to Merseyside.
