Norway international Havard Nordtveit is reportedly weighing up whether to join Everton during the January transfer window.

The Premier League side, who currently sit 11th in the standings respectively, have been strongly linked with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach central midfielder this month.

The 25-year-old, who has 26 international caps for his country, has scored three goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

Nordtveit, who was a former Arsenal reserve captain during his spell with the Gunners between 2007 and 2010, never made a first-team appearance for Arsene Wenger’s side.

The Norwegian, who can also operate at centre-half, is tipped as the ideal long-term replacement for Toffees midfielder Gareth Barry by manager Roberto Martinez.
