Everton have been linked with a move for Baba Rahman.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo the Chelsea defender has been discussed as a potential transfer target.

Rahman spent last season on loan at Schalke 04 but his involvement was cut short in January when he picked up a serious knee injury on international duty.

Everton were in line to take the 22-year-old on loan but doubts about his fitness have put that option on hold.

With Seamus Coleman out with a long term injury the last thing that Ronald Koeman needs is another defender with a question mark over his fitness.

Chelsea paid Augsburg £14m for Rahman in 2015 but after 23 appearances in his debut season Antonio Conte decided to send him out on loan.

Koeman is in the market for players in most positions with an emphasis on those under 25 who can be developed towards Champions League standards.
