The Premier League’s seventh place side Everton are monitoring the progress of Ajax’s 19-year-old starlet Kasper Dolberg, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Danish Under-21 international has scored eight goals in 19 appearances for the Dutch giants this season, including the opener in their 3-2 win over Celta Vigo in the Europa League last week.

Dolberg’s excellent form for Ajax has seen him rewarded with his first ever call-up to the Denmark senior team, and he could make his debut alongside the likes of Christian Eriksen and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan this evening.

Not only has Dolberg’s brilliant start to the season attracted the interest of national coach Aga Hareide, but Everton boss Ronald Koeman could pursue an interest in the forward in a bid to bolster his attacking options at Goodison Park.

However, the Toffees manager could face competition from fellow Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City for the 19-year-old’s signature, and it could cost the trio at least £20 million to bring him to England in January.

Everton made a strong start to the Premier League season, winning four of their first five matches, but have since slumped to just one win in six, leaving them seventh in the table and eight points adrift of Merseyside rivals Liverpool at the top.
