Everton striker Steven Naismith is expected to complete an £8m move to Norwich City this month.

A January deal that has been on the cards for weeks – Steve Naismith’s proposed £8m move to fellow English top-flight side Norwich City.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Toffees on a free transfer from Rangers back in July 2012, has scored four goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for Everton this season.

However Naismith, who has 40 international caps for Scotland, has started just five of those games due to the prolific form of fellow forward Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park this campaign.

Manager Roberto Martinez is now understood to be keen on thrashing out a deal to offload Naismith to Norwich in the forthcoming days as he would like to use the £8m transfer fee as funds for a rumoured £21m bid for Ukraine and Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko.

After almost sealing his switch to Carrow Road at the end of the summer transfer window, Alex Neil’s Canaries finally look destined to land the Scottish forward this month in a bid to help them stave off relegation come the end of the season.
