Name: Felipe Caicedo
Position: Striker
Club: Espanyol

Felipe Caicedo scored four goals in 26 Premier League games for Manchester City between 2007-09.

Although Everton’s main problem this season has been defensively, the Toffees would be short up front if Romelu Lukaku was to pick up an injury.

Steven Naismith was sold to Norwich for £8.5 million, meaning Roberto Martinez should be looking at bring in a centre-forward at a similar price, just so he has some back-up for his top scoring Belgian.

One striker that could be one for the Spanish boss to look at is Espanyol’s Felipe Caicedo. Although he failed to set the world alight during his time with Manchester City in his younger days, the Ecuador international is now an improved player and one who could be useful to the Blues, as both a starter and from the bench, over the rest of the campaign.

With a release clause of £7.3m, the now 27-year-old, who has 12 goals in 27 appearances this term, could prove a shrewd piece of business should the Goodison Park club follow through their interest.
