Everton are reportedly plotting a £15m raid for Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Premier League side, who finished 12th in the English top-flight standings this term, which eventually led to manager Roberto Martinez’s dismissal, want to lure the former England Under-21 international to Goodison Park ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 29-year-old, who began his professional career at League One outfit Walsall, scored five goals and provided one assist in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles this season.

Dann, who arrived at Selhurst Park from Blackburn Rovers back in January 2014, only signed a new five-year deal with Alan Pardew’s side last summer.

However the report suggests that Everton, who are hopeful of naming Southampton boss Ronald Koeman as their new manager later this week, have earmarked defender Dann as one of their top transfer targets should the Dutchman arrive on Merseyside.

The Liverpool Echo also suggest that the centre-half will command a transfer fee of at least £15m.
