Everton are unlikely to grant Wayne Rooney a return to Goodison Park.

According to a report in The Sun the Everton boss is hesitant to agree to Rooney’s financial demands and is unsure how the 31-year-old would fit in to his plans for next season.

Last week Rooney claimed that the only English clubs that he’s play for would be Manchester United or Everton but it now seems certain that his future lies abroad.

Rooney can expect to pick up a massive financial deal by going to China or the USA but was prepared to return to Everton if terms could be agreed.

Manchester United were prepared to let the striker go for free to assist that deal but now it seems that a move to Everton is highly unlikely.

Koeman is attempting to convince players to move to Everton but knows that he’ll struggle to bring players in if they are getting offered significantly less money that Rooney is picking up.
