Everton will target Branislav Ivanovic if Phil Jagielka moves to Sunderland.

According to a report in The Express Ronald Koeman is preparing to make an offer for the Chelsea defender if Jagielka can agree terms to rejoin Davie Moyes.

Both defenders find themselves in similar positions with new managers making their own decisions despite years of faithful service.

Jagielka has had talks with Koeman about his future prospects and is unlikely to be back in the first team picture any time soon.

Ivanovic hasn’t started a Chelsea match in three months and is one of the big name casualties of the Antonio Conte reign.

With Koeman pushing hard to put his own stamp on the Everton squad bringing in a quality defender like the 32-year-old would make perfect sense.

Ten years after joining Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow the Serbian defender is ready for a new challenge and confident that he still has a good few seasons left at the highest level.
