Everton are reportedly set to reignite their interest in landing Iceland international star Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to The Times.

The Premier League side, who thrillingly defeated defending league champions Leicester City 4-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday, have been linked with a summer swoop for the Swansea City midfielder ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 27-year-old, who has 49 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for The Swans so far this season.

Sigurdsson, who is contracted at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2020, has netted 36 times in 125 games overall for the Welsh outfit, following his move from Tottenham Hotspur back in July 2014.

The report suggests Ronald Koeman’s Toffees will attempt to lure the Icelandic ace to Goodison Park again this summer, following last year’s failure.

Paul Clement’s Swansea are currently two points adrift of safety in the bottom three of the Premier League standings.
