Everton look like missing out on Gylfi Sigurdsson.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo the Swansea forward has indicated that he is happy to stay in Wales now that relegation has been avoided.

The goals of Sigurdsson have been one of the main reasons for Swansea staying up with Everton and West Ham both linked with a move for the Icelandic striker.

The 27-year-old moved to Swansea in 2014 after a miserable two year stint with Spurs and is in no rush to quit the club.

Paul Clement’s arrival at the turn of the year sparked an upturn in form with Sigurdsson a key figure in securing survival with one match still to be played. Crucially he is under contract until 2020.

After scoring nine Premier League goals in a season that was spent battling against the drop Swansea are expected to open talks about extending Sigurdsson’s stay with the Welsh side.
