With just days left in the summer window, Everton still hold out hope in re-signing Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea, according to the Daily Star

The Toffees are desperate to bolster their defence having lost stalwart Phil Jagielka earlier this summer and Zouma’s return to Chelsea following his loan last season.

Everton fans were not shy in their admiration for the French centre back, spreading the trending hashtag ‘#FreeZouma’ late last week.

Lampard has promised all his players a clean slate this pre season.

It is no surprise, as Zouma enjoyed a successful term at Goodison Park last campaign, making an impressive 32 Premier League appearances.

With Chelsea unable to register any new players for another 12 months, new manager Frank Lampard has given all his players minutes in pre season promising a clean slate.

However, with the club not officially turning down the Merseyside outfit, there is still hope that Zouma will return to Everton on another season-long loan.
