Romelu Lukaku will shun the advances of former club Chelsea and put pen to paper on a new deal at Everton according to reports from Sky Sports.
Lukaku has been in superb form this season bagging an impressive 16 league goals as the Toffees have moved up to seventh in the table five points behind Manchester United.
Everton signed Lukaku from Chelsea for £28 million in 2014 after spending a season there on loan and since his arrival at Goodison the Belgian striker has bagged 59 league goals.
High-profile ‘super agent’ Mino Raiola insists his client will end up signing a new deal at Everton.
“There are no problems right now between the player and the club.
“Talks are ongoing. He will sign.”
Ever since he burst on to the scene as a teenager at Anderlecht, Lukaku has been sought after and following his move to Chelsea in 2011, successful loan spells and West Bromwich Albion and Everton added to his value before the Toffees decided to spend a club record fee to acquire his services on a permanent basis. The main issue Ronald Koeman has is keeping hold of his free scoring star who continues to be linked with moves away from Merseyside.
