Everton target Henry Onyekuru has spoken out about speculation surrounding his future at Belgian side KAS Eupen, according to Belgian newspaper L’Avenir (via Sport Witness).

The 19-year-old has been in sensational goal-scoring form for the First Division outfit this season, bagging 20 goals and nine assists in 38 games in all competitions to help them finish 13th in the top-flight.

And the striker kept his suitors happy by netting his sixth goal in seven matches last weekend in their 2-1 defeat to Genk, and that now means that he has either scored or laid on an assist in each of his last seven games.

And it’s that sort of form which has attracted interest from around Europe, with fellow Belgian outfits Anderlecht and Club Brugge reportedly keeping tabs on his situation, as are Ronald Koeman’s Everton.

Which is why Onyekuru’s recent comments about his future will be of interest, certainly to the Toffees hierarchy, as the 19-year-old, when asked about links to Anderlecht, Brugge, and Everton, said: ‘Yes, everything is possible.’

This will certainly be music to the ears of Everton fans who will likely see top-scorer and talisman Romelu Lukaku leave the summer this season after he rejected a new deal at Goodison Park earlier this season.

Thus, manager Koeman will quite simply need to bolster his attacking options were the 24-goal star to leave in the transfer window, and with Eupen reportedly holding out for just £7 million for Onyekuru’s services, they surely have nothing to lose.

What seems clear is that the forward’s future is away from Eupen, but whether he decides on a move to England or to remain in Belgium with one of their top clubs remains to be seen.
