Ronald Koeman’s Everton will face a fight from Serie A giants Lazio and Napoli to land Juventus goalkeeper Neto this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via talkSPORT).

The 27-year-old shot-stopper moved to Turin in 2015 after an excellent spell at fellow Italian outfit Fiorentina, but has unsurprisingly been unable to dislodge Gianluigi Buffon as the number one at the Juventus Stadium.

The Brazilian keeper has managed just seven Serie A starts this term, the majority of which have come in 2017, yet with just one further Champions League start and several appearances in the Coppa Italia (albeit including their 2-0 win over Lazio in the final on Wednesday), it’s evident that he won’t be disposing Buffon of the gloves any time soon.

And his lack of first team football has attracted much attention from around Europe, none more so than on Merseyside at Goodison Park, with Koeman’s Toffees reportedly retaining an interest in Neto that first came to prominence at the end of 2016.

Current options Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg have both been unconvincing at times this season and thus neither have consolidated the number one jersey at the club, and as a result Koeman appears to be on the lookout for another shot-stopper that he can rely on to help them bridge the gap to the top six.

And he clearly feels that Neto is the man to do just that, although the Everton boss won’t have it all his own way, as reports suggest that both Lazio and Napoli are also thought to want the 27-year-old.

It does appear that Neto’s future is away from Juventus, but where he goes this summer very much remains to be seen.
