Premier League outfit Everton are not expected to make Enner Valencia’s loan deal a permanent one this summer, according to The Liverpool Echo.

The 27-year-old spent the season at Goodison Park on loan from fellow top-flight side West Ham, although rarely had the desired effect for Ronald Koeman’s Toffees, netting just three times in 21 Premier League appearances.

And the fact that only five of those 21 games were starts tells you all you need to know about how highly Koeman rated the Ecuador international, so it’s hardly a surprise that the club are reportedly set to snub the option of a permanent deal this summer.

The Liverpool Echo report that, as part of the loan deal, Everton had the option of purchasing the forward for £11 million this summer, yet it is believed that manager Koeman will turn up that option.

Although he would occasionally come off the bench to good effect, notably against Tottenham and Hull, the 27-year-old didn’t really show or do enough throughout his time at Goodison Park, and he looks set to return to West Ham with the hope of breaking into Slaven Bilic’s team next term.
