Chelsea have reportedly made Belgium international hitman Romelu Lukaku their number one transfer target this summer, according to The Sun.
The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit tenth in the standings after last weekend’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, is wanted by incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte to spearhead his side’s attacking frontline next term.
The 22-year-old, who has 44 international caps for his country and is tipped to star for Belgium during Euro 2016 in France later this year, has scored a remarkable 25 goals and provided six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for English top-flight rivals Everton so far this season.
However Lukaku, who remains the Toffees’ club-record signing after leaving Chelsea for Goodison Park for a reported £28m back in July 2014, is also said to be attracting interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid too this summer.
The report suggests that Everton will want at least double the transfer fee they coughed up for the Belgian, who arrived in English football after signing for Chelsea back in August 2011 in a deal worth up to £17m after leaving Anderlecht.
