Manchester United are on the brink of sealing the signing of Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League side, who lifted the UEFA Europa League and EFL Cup last term, are expected to complete a mega-money deal for the Everton hitman ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 24-year-old, who has 57 international caps for his country, scored 26 goals and provided seven assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for The Toffees last season, with Ronald Koeman’s side finishing eight points adrift of United in seventh spot in the top-flight standings.

Lukaku scored 25 league goals last season.

Lukaku, who arrived at Goodison Park back in 2013 on an initial loan deal from Chelsea, before a then club-record £30m switch the following summer, has netted 87 times in 166 games overall for the Merseyside outfit.

However, the Belgian striker will undergo a medical in Los Angeles today ahead of his expected £90m transfer to Premier League rivals United.

The report suggests Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils will pay £75m up-front for his services, plus another £15m in add-ons, despite late interest from former club Chelsea.
