Manchester United have been urged to try and sign Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, by former Red Devil Quinton Fortune.

The Premier League side, who climbed up to sixth spot in the English top-flight standings following Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City, have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund forward in previous transfer windows.

The 27-year-old, who has 51 international caps for his country, has already scored an impressive 14 goals and provided three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Aubameyang, who began his professional career at Italian giants AC Milan, also netted a remarkable 39 times during the 2015/16 campaign.

And despite manager Jose Mourinho having the likes of Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford this term, former player Fortune would like to see the ‘Special One’ target the Gabon ace.

He said, via the Express, “Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, I like him.

“Pace, scoring goals, that’s what we need but, obviously we have the young Marcus Rashford.

“If we are going to bring someone in that can a difference, he can make a difference.”
